Gunz impressed all with its new trade fair appearance
18.10.2011
"Anuga" the worlds largest trade fair for food was held from the 8th to 12th October in Cologne. More than 6,500 companies from 100 countries were represented over an area of around 300,000 m2. Visitors numbered more than 150,000.
For Gunz Warenhandels GmbH the twice yearly "Anuga" counts as one of the most important trade shows for company representation and exhibition. This year the trade fair visitors were surprised with a new stand concept and in turn amazed at the impressive new look. With an exhibition stand size of 300 m2 the new stand constructor knew how to skilfully set the scene. The new Gunz exhibition stand was well situated in one of the most popular halls and had an abundance of visitors. Compared to previous years and to other major fairs, almost three times as many new business contacts were collected from over 100 countries around the world. The evidence clearly showed that even in non-German speaking countries Gunz has developed into a very strong partner in a wide variety of food divisions. Around 90 % of the visitors were from non-German speaking countries such as Asia, USA, Africa, China, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Russia and many more.
The 10-member Gunz Team were also very pleased to welcome the many existing customers visiting the stand. Existing business relationships were thoroughly discussed and consolidated.
Gunz Warenhandels GmbH is very pleased with the highly positive response from "Anuga" and looks forward to further successful trade fair appearances.

Gunz Warenhandels GmbH will build a food-products logistics centre in Magdeburg. The launch of the new building project has already taken place at the end of June and the first excavators have moved in. The official laying of the foundation stone took place in Stegelitzer Straße in Magdeburg on September 14th.
In addition to the construction companies, architects and project manager Peter Steurer (exakt - office for construction work), also Werner Gunz (Managing Director) travelled from Austria to jointly lay the symbolic foundation stone together with Lord Mayor Lutz Trümper, Magdeburg's Counsellor for Economics Rainer Nitsche and the Head of Department of Economic Affairs, Hans-Joachim Hennings.
A new trade centre has been developed in Magdeburg-Rothensee on an area of approximately 28,000 m2. This will boast a capacity of 18,500 pallet places. In the future particularly northern Germany, Scandinavia, Poland, Great Britain and the Benelux countries will be supplied from here. Almost 100 new jobs are planned. Around € 15 million will be invested in this project.
In addition, the company intends to process the entire overseas exports in the container business via the Magdeburg harbour. "The geographical connection to the motorway and port was the main reason why we have chosen the location of Magdeburg" said Werner Gunz. Another crucial point for choosing Magdeburg was, "that they understood immediately the need to assist us in a rapid implementation" continued Gunz.
The new distribution centre represents the company's largest investment to-date. With the new warehouse, the company wants to be closer to customers and suppliers.
Provided everything goes according to plan the industrial and logistics centre will be completed in spring 2012.

Headquarters Mäder: expansion now complete
05.07.2011
With the two further building phases, the renovation of the Gunz-shop and the 1000m2 office expansion, the building development at the Gunz Headquarters in Mäder is complete. Space has been created for 60 modern and high quality office work places all of which are equipped for the disabled.
After a total of five building extensions within the last seven years future extensions are no longer possible due to a lack of land reserves in Mäder. Thus, Gunz Warenhandels GmbH has invested a further € 2.5 million into its headquarters location.
The total investment at the site in Mäder amounts to around € 15 million, which gives a clear "pro" to the company's location Vorarlberg.
