The number of electric cars on our roads is steadily increasing. We also want to face up to this issue. Better and better vehicles are coming onto the market and the charging infrastructure is constantly being expanded.
Does the topic of e-mobility, which is fraught with a great deal of prejudice, also work in the field?
For this reason, about a year ago we ordered the first affordable vehicle that was suitable for field service: a Skoda Enyaq iV 80 with a stated range of 520 km. The vehicle was delivered in spring and has since been in our long-term test. In the meantime, we have been able to gain experience from the first 10,000 test kilometres and many advantages have been demonstrated!
90% of the daily tours are accomplished without intermediate charging. The basic prerequisite for this is that a charging facility is available at home so that the battery can be started with a full charge in the morning. However, if a recharge is necessary, it only takes a few minutes per additional 100 km at a fast charging station.
In fact, 400 to 500 km can be achieved with one charge. But only if the top speed is not above 120 to 130 km/h. When driving faster, it is the same as with the combustion engine, that the consumption increases and the range decreases.
Another advantage, which we would not have expected, is an almost stress-free driving: By driving slower and with more foresight, you can reach your destination in a relaxed manner. The almost silent driving also contributes to this. In addition, traffic safety increases massively, because you are simply not driving too fast! At the end of the day, you are much less tired and stressed.
In summary, it can already be said that e-mobility in the field is feasible for frequent drivers. But we will continue testing and it remains exciting how this test will turn out!
In one of the last issues of LP.Lebensmittel Praxis, a very interesting newspaper report was published about our range and company.
Read it here:
As part of the Vorarlberg Future Day "Ich geh mit" (I'll go with you), we welcomed three young people to our company in Mäder for a whole day last summer. This day is initiated by the province of Vorarlberg and invites companies to introduce young people from relatives or acquaintances to „real“ working life. The aim is for the young people to gain as many different impressions as possible in order to create an important building block for a later career decision. All of them must have achieved this goal, because all three of them really enjoyed working in the office, warehouse and shop areas and were able to take away a lot of knowledge and impressions. At the end of the day, the young trial candidates were very happy about the successful day and the Gunz-“ich-geh-mit“ certificate.

In the summer, one of our team meetings of the field service team France could finally take place again. Taking into account the Corona guidelines, our colleagues met in Paris to discuss the half-year review and the outlook. These were very successful team days! Many thanks to all involved!
By consistently separating and collecting recyclable materials at our branch in Magdeburg, we once again made our best possible contribution to the sustainable use of raw materials last year. For this, we were awarded this certificate by the recycling specialist interseroh zero waste solutions (part of the international ALBA Group). Dear colleagues in Magdeburg, thank you for your commitment!
One of our customers will decorate his donuts with our articles in the future. A first test run was very positive. Even more so because the customer also brought the donuts over to our entire staff in Magdeburg for a tasting! They tasted delicious, thank you very much!
A few months ago, we broke a very important record in Italy with a monthly delivery of one million cans of "Bad Dog". Thanks to a nationwide campaign for our Italian customers and the great commitment of our colleagues from the Gunz team, this incredible delivery volume of our energy drink hits was made possible. Thanks to all involved!

Since the beginning of this year, we have been working more closely with the Magdeburg Inter-Company Training Centre (ÜAZ). The ÜAZ accompanies young people through an extracurricular school-leaving qualification to a vocational qualification or permanent employment. For this purpose, companies are being sought for internships and practical training.
We are very happy that we now employ our first trainee, Egor Degen, on a permanent basis through this project. Welcome to the team, Egor!
Currently Dustin Mattern is with us as part of the internship to get to know our warehouse activities in the Magdeburg branch. We are looking forward to further cooperation with the ÜAZ in the future!
In one of the last issues of LP.economy we were represented with a very interesting report about the Magdeburg branch. Everything about pallet spaces, customer wishes and chocolate specialities can be read here:

Since a few days our assortment for Easter 2022 is fixed and available as a catalogue.
Our brand "Piacelli" reflects the diversity of Italy in the form of impulsive products from a wide range of product groups. Make "Bella Italia" tangible and palatable for your customers.
Here is an inspirational example from one of our customers:
"Gunz on the road" has recently become the motto on Jordan's roads. Our customer now transports its goods in the Only and Snackline transporter.
There is a big personnel change at our Magdeburg site: our esteemed colleague, Alex Weise, who has led our camp through the challenges of the pandemic together with all our colleagues over the last few months, is now officially taking over as camp manager. Alex has been with our Magdeburg team for almost 10 years.
Whether Woogie Fine Drops candy tins are placed in special areas or in our specially designed empty displays and possibly even quite significantly and impulsively in various checkout areas - thanks to the variety of types and the different placement options, all our customers will find the right way to sell our popular Woogie Fine Drops in tins!
At the beginning of April, our team from Gunz Eurasia participated in the Prod Expo trade fair in Moscow, the largest food trade fair in Russia and Eastern Europe. This was the first trade fair visit for us in a long time. Observing the Corona restrictions in force there, our colleagues from Minsk were able to welcome a lot of visitors and thus achieve a very good result at the fair. Thanks to all who visited us on site and a big praise to our Gunz Eurasia team!
Since the start of our company Covid testing, we have performed about 3,500 tests so far! Our quite positive economic position in this pandemic to date is mainly due to the efforts of our employees. Many thanks to all our employees for your tireless efforts and regular willingness to get tested!
Now a new date has been fixed for PLMA 2021 in Amsterdam. The fair will probably take place from December 14th to 15th. Our booth number will be announced in time on our homepage.
The Anuga in Cologne will expected (and hopefully) take place from October 9 to 13, 2021 in Cologne. Our booth will be (not fully fixed): Hall 3.2 - Booth B62
The name of the prominent TV and FC Bayern Munich chef - Alfons Schuhbeck - should be familiar to anyone who knows anything about cuisine or football.
Thanks to our Schuhbeck's FCB Power Muesli, hopefully the majority of your customers will soon be able to enjoy a "Schuhbeck" at home!
Because, after our latest Gunz test, everyone is convinced:
We tested the use of the muesli especially for our customers and the varied result is something to be proud of. Colleagues from the Gunz team have been infected by Schubeck's creativity and have conjured up everyday delicacies with the muesli mix.

The expansion of the photovoltaic system in Mäder was completed at the beginning of March.
The output was increased from 100kWp to 170kWp. This enables us to generate about 50 % of the electricity consumption at the Mäder site ourselves.
The total output of the plant comparatively covers the consumption of 35 single-family homes.
Our Woogie "Makarena" jellies shine fruity and fresh in every fruit floor at the beginning of summer. The motto here is "take a look and grab it"!
We are delighted to have a particularly media-savvy new customer from Iraq who is successfully raising awareness of our three varieties of Gina Originale iced coffees and has therefore already ordered several truckloads in the meantime. In various video spots, they rely on the name recognition of their model: a well-known influencer in social media channels. In addition to this, the client makes very high-quality photo shoots in which the iced coffee cups shine magnificently.
Thank you once again for the photo and film material and the magnificent staging of the Gina Originale iced coffees in cappuccino, latte macchiato and vanilla!

To the three varieties of Gina Originale iced coffees:
In order to keep the risk of infection as low as possible and to filter out people with asymptomatic disease, testing in many countries is currently more than ever the focus of this pandemic. We have decided to offer our employees at the Mäder and Magdeburg sites the possibility of weekly free tests. Without further ado, we have transformed our fitness room in Mäder into a Corona "test lane" (see photos). Currently, we offer our employees from administration, warehouse and packaging to be tested three times a week. We currently carry out about 500 antigen tests per week!
In one of the last editions of the CASH trade magazine our managing director Michael Temel had his words to say in a very readable interview.
You can read the report here:
Here we have once again received beautiful pictures of a customer from Africa. This time from Cameroon.
On Friday 8 January, a report on the market development and the annual accounts of our company was published in the market section of the Vorarlberger Nachrichten.
You can read the report here:
For many years we have been supporting the school home in the home village of our main location Mäder with annual donations. Shortly before Christmas we were pleased to receive a very special gift as a thank you!
Mr. Arnt Buchwald, Managing Director of the school home in Mäder, presented us with a very creatively designed cake with loving details to celebrate Werner Gunz's 60th birthday. The cake was a thank you to say goodbye to Werner and the details on it represented his life from the perspective of the school home.
Many thanks again to Mr. Buchwald, his staff and all the children of the school for this very nice expression of appreciation!
At the end of last year, we had the pleasure of celebrating a particularly large number of anniversaries among our employees. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were not able to honour our employees in a proper setting.
Previously, our jubilarians would join our managing directors on a large stage to be thanked and presented with a thank-you gift. It is such a pity that we have to do it without this event and this grandiose group photo, which would certainly have been taken.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our 2020 jubilarians once again!
